Information we collect
When you sign in, TubeLingo may collect account information provided by Google and Firebase Authentication, such as your email address, display name, profile photo, and Firebase user ID.
When you use TubeLingo vocabulary features, we may collect the words you choose to explain, save, bookmark, review, or remove, along with timestamps needed to provide saved vocabulary and review features.
When you use TubeLingo on YouTube or webpages, the browser extension may read YouTube captions or selected page text locally in your browser so it can show captions and word explanations. TubeLingo does not collect your browsing history, the list of pages you visit, or complete page contents.
If you choose to open a book from Google Drive, TubeLingo requests access only to the file you select. The file is downloaded directly to your browser for reading and is not stored on TubeLingo servers.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, show word explanations and translations, save and sync vocabulary, support review and learning features, and maintain TubeLingo functionality.
Data sharing
TubeLingo does not sell user data or share it with third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
TubeLingo uses service providers necessary to operate the product, including Google Firebase for authentication and saved vocabulary storage, and TubeLingo backend services for explanations, translation, and learning features.
Usage analytics
TubeLingo uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate website and app usage, such as page views, approximate location, device and browser information, and how visitors move between TubeLingo pages. We use this information to improve the product and do not use it to collect the contents of webpages, videos, ebooks, or PDF files you view.
Google API Limited Use
TubeLingo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data security
TubeLingo uses HTTPS for network communication. Authentication and saved vocabulary are handled through Firebase and TubeLingo services.
Your control
You can remove saved words through the extension or TubeLingo app and sign out at any time. Google Drive access is optional, is requested only when you choose it in the reader, and can be revoked from your Google Account permissions. You can use TubeLingo's reader and core caption features without signing in.
